Estudi Alicia Herrero: Dance and Movement Arts Training

Founded in 2010 by Alicia Herrero and currently directed by Cristina Puchades, the Estudi Alicia Herrero is a women’s cooperative dedicated to dance and movement arts education.

Center registered in Conselleria d’Educació of Comunitat Valenciana with center code 46036611, offers its own educational programs such as Dansa Educocreativa® i Pregnancy® as well as a preparation itinerary for official professional and higher dance studies.

Educational programs for smart bodies and creative minds

At the Estudi Alicia Herrero, we offer interdisciplinary dance trainingin creative, classical/ballet, Spanish dance traditions, contemporary and musical styles from age 3. Our educational program features an inclusive, personalized and inquiry-based methodologythat promotes students’ holistic development.

Regular training at the Studio

Our Dansa Educocreativa® program offers comprehensive dance and movement arts training for participants of all ages. It also includes a preparatory pathway for entry into official professional and advanced dance studies. 

  • Dansa Educocreativa® for children, youth, adults and older adults.
  • Flamenco classes for youth, adults and older adults.
  • Professional Pathway preparing students for official professional and advanced dance study with focused training in classical/ballet and contemporary dance.

Activities in the Studio

  • Family Dance: Workshops of creative play and movement expression to strengthen emotional bonds.
  • Gravidansa: Dance and well-being workshops for pregnant women and mothers with their babies.
  • Urban Dance: A workshop for young people featuring energetic and expressive contemporary dance styles.
  • Contact Improvisation: A social space to explore this partner-based movement practice.
  • Jazz and Musical Theatre: Workshops introducing the repertoire of these dance genres.
  • Somatic Practices: Sessions in Pilates, Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais to strengthen the body, improving posture, releasing tension and gaining body awareness.
  • Castanets Workshop: An exploration of this traditional instrument through rhythm, coordination and movement.

During June and July, we offer artistic summer courses for children from age 4, as well as advanced level dance training for more experienced learners.

We also provide professional dance and performing arts services for social and corporate events, including:
  • Choreography creation for weddings, celebrations or other events.
  • Workshops for companies and organizations offering creative experiences to promote socialization, team building, leadership, motivation and holistic well-being.

Where are we?

Our headquarters are located in Xàtiva (Espai Cultural La Nova, Acadèmic Maravall 8-b-2), from where we coordinate dance, training and research projects in Dansa Educocreativa® i social.
